An outstanding community fundraising achievement during Lockdown 2020 brings new support and social enterprise opportunities for the area.
Fundraising over the summer 2020 to secure the old fire station in Budleigh Salterton as a permanent legacy for the Community succeeded in raising over £400,000 and enabled the Trust to purchase and transform this iconic public building for community use. After several months of renovation and fitting out by local artisans and a team of volunteers, works are moving forward as planned. We hope to open in Spring 2021. Our architects Dillons Design Limited have created an artist’s impression of how the building will look inside. The exterior of the building will remain the same, including the iconic red frontage.
